Field School
The Mount Moresby Adventure Camp facility provides the ideal base camp for field schools addressing a variety of academic disciplines (biology, ethnobotany, cultural anthropology, archeology etc…). The longhouses offer the space and comfort of the classroom setting while the surrounding natural environment gives an unparalleled hands on experience and opportunity that students will never forget.
Over the past several years, the staff of MMAC have begun cataloging the plethora of species in the area and monitoring sites containing red and blue listed species. These efforts have led to the building (with the help from local students) of a deer exclosure not far from the facility. This area will give an important look into the forests natural regeneration without the unquestionable influence of the introduced deer species. The local and fully certified guides have a strong knowledge of the surrounding area and offer quality experiences to students of all ages.
In working together, MMAC will act as a contact base to bring in local specialists for curriculum enhancement. With the options of a fully catered program, use of all needed equipment and professional guides, MMAC will help you create an exceptional learning experience.
